Are You Sure You Have Hired the Right Person for the Position?

We are fortunate to have clients who like the quality of candidates we send them. Fifty-one percent of our clients have used our Employee Search service for three or more hires.

Ninety days ago, one of our clients selected two General Managers we recommended to them. Keyline and our client made sure we had the best information we could get, making certain the candidates measured up to what would be expected from them, and they were hired.

However, is this going to be a win-win situation? Many employee selections require a wait-and-see period to learn if the new employees are going to be successful. The questions waiting to be answered include, “Are they what they claim to be?” “Will they fit in the company’s culture?” and “How will they interact with the current staff?”

Our clients receive a win-win package of two tools that assure them the new hires will be what they represent. One of the tools is an online application process that candidates complete. The process measures how they will do what they do, why they will do it, and what they will do. Often, it turns out the candidates are not fully aware of all the personal talents – the gifts to the job – that they bring to the table.

This information is what we use to represent candidates who are a match for the positions that need to be filled. This information also provides us the way to offer a replacement guarantee to prove it. To date, 96% of our recommendations have been on the job for 2 years or more.

Our second tool is a Performance Evaluation Assessment (PEA) that measures candidates' use of their personal talents on the job, day in and day out. We produce the PEA using a component of our tool to determine if the candidate is a match for the position. When we benchmark a position, we measure the personal talents an employee will need to be successful in it. The online application process measures the candidate's personal talents.

The PEA measures whether the employee is using the personal talents the position calls for. Our overwhelming experience is that If the result is yes, it is because the employee's personal talents are a match for the position.  The reason we have a 96% retention rate is that our recommended employees are a match for their positions. While technical skills are learned, personal talents are natural for the person.

The two General Managers were hired using this process ninety days ago. The PEA results have shown that they are performing on the job as needed and as expected. Our client and the GMs have this information, based on a process which can be repeated at any time and compared to the earlier results.
