Screening Candidates Versus Pre-Screening Candidates

There is a significant difference between screening candidates, and pre-screening candidates.

1.       Most methods of screening candidates confirm information after these processes

  •    Reviewing Resumes
  •    Determing which of the candidates are worth of more effort
  •    Conducting telephone interviews
  •    Spending time to evaluate the process to date
  •    Arranging for candidates and hiring mangers to meet for an interview
  •    Scheduling interviews of candidates by other stakeholders

This process carries an upfront cost that may be hard to assess, but we know it can be a few thousand dollars for each candidate.

Talent Management Plus™ (TMP) allows for a pre-screening approach.  TMP software empowers the hiring manager to manage all the following challenges

  •     Assess how  candidates responded to the five pre-interview questions
  •     Review  responses to thirteen benchmarked items for the position to see if the candidates are a match
  •     Evaluate how the resume matches up to the position and assessment responses.
  •      Complete this  process in less than ten minutes
  •      Evaluate candidates before the first telephone interview
  •      Conduct  phone interviews with pre-loaded information about each candidate
  •      Apply this process to as many candidates as it takes to find the match for the position
  •      Pay the fee only for the candidate you hire.
  •      Conduct cost-effective group interviews using questions the TMP software identifies as job relate

2.   Usually, screening software is for screening only.  However, TMP produces a sixty-four page coaching report and offers other self-development tools to keep the new hire job focused. These tools boost the employee retention necessary, for the success of a business.

3.   Every candidate who applies for an open position will complete the TMP assessments, and all results are stored in your company database. When new hires quit or are terminated, you have access to all the candidates who scored well for that position, therefore, you can reconsider as a replacement.  You may not need to restart the search process, saving money and time.

4.   TMP allows you to add incumbents to your company database at no fee.  This feature allows you to create a personal talent inventory you can compare to any benchmarked position, which you can use to find database matches for an open or pending position.  If there is a match, the position will be filled from within your organization, which is always a good practice.
